By AirThere are two airports in the area. Bergerac is about 30 minutes away and is served by Ryanair and Flybe. Bordeaux airport is about 60 minutes away, and is served by British Airways and Easyjet, as well as other airlines, including Air France from Paris. The Map page shows the location of La Matha relative to the airports. BergeracRyanair flys to Bergerac from London Stanstead, Liverpool, East Midlands and Bristol in the UK and Brussels (Charlroi) in Belgium. Flybe flys to Bergerac from Birmingham, Exeter, Edinburgh, Leeds Bradford, London Gatwick, and Southampton. There are also daily flights from Paris Orly by Twinjet Most of the other hire companies are present at the airport - ADA, Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz, National/Citer. There is also a local car hire company with offices in Bergerac and Bordeaux near the airport that we can recommend, JB Location, and the rates are sometimes better from them. BordeauxBritish Airways flys to Bordeaux from London Gatwick Easyjet flys to Bordeaux from London Luton and Bristol, as well as from Geneva and Lyon. The car hire firms at Bordeaux are: ADA, Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz, National/Citer and Sixt. By TrainYou can get to Bordeaux by TGV from Paris - a journey of about three hours. From Bordeaux, you can take a train to St Foy La Grande (about 10km away) and then a taxi to Caplong. Alternatively, hire cars are available from Bordeaux mainline train station. By RoadLa Matha is about 570 miles (915Km) from Calais. We do recommend that visitors have a car whilst they stay at La Matha - the house is quite remote, and taxis are not easy to come by!A short while before your holiday, we will provide you with instructions on how to find La Matha. |
